Capturing a companion
Pet capture is unlocked through Beast Command. During a battle, choose Capture and target a living monster that exists in the capturable species catalogue and is within your current capture-level limit. Only one successful capture can be made in an encounter.
Capture is not a flat coin toss. Your character's Agility, the target's Agility and the target's remaining HP all matter. Weakening a monster makes its resistance lower, while higher player Agility improves the roll. The battle interface is the authority for whether a target is currently capturable.
Beast Command ranks
Some special equipment can extend the normal capture ceiling. The Invoker Staff allows eligible monsters up to level 300 to be bound while the item is available to the character.
What happens after capture
A captured monster joins your persistent companion roster. Its capture level is capped at your own level, its source species determines its stat curve and native abilities, and a newly captured pet becomes active automatically only when you did not already have a deployed companion.
There is also a server-controlled chance for a captured pet to receive one additional rare ability that is not already native to that species. The exact chance can be adjusted during testing; the game is the current authority for the live value.
